Le Quartier now making frozen pizza

Was wondering through the newly expanded and remodeled Open Harvest and saw that LeQuartier had three variations of frozen pizza on their crusts. There was a meat one, a veggi, and this pizza lyonnaise one I picked up.

Creamy leek sauce (cream, leek, feta, garlic, salt), artichoke hearts, mushrooms (portobella, button), bacon, onion, salt.

Seems they forgot to list cheese as an ingredient, but I am pretty sure it was mozzarella. I am a huge fan of their pizza crusts and enjoy them for lunch with light toppings. This frozen pizza was loaded with toppings. It was a hearty meal and could easily be split between two people with a side salad and some bread. At just under $7 it was a bit pricey, but local and made with great ingredients.

The Leek sauce scared me before I tried it, but it was delicious. Not greasy and the big chunks of toppings made each bite unique. I would eat it again for sure.

Chipolte mayo is great on a BLT

Thanks to the washtub player in Diamond Kazoo for helping me with the mayo vs miracle whip decision. Picked up some mayo and chipolte peppers and blended them up with a bit of black pepper and it made a delicious spread for a BLT. Nom

Roast chicky

Yeah I have posted about roasting a chicken a few times, but whatevs.

Really nice to be able to roast the chicken in the oven now that the weather has gone cool. And putting the chicken on the veggies makes an insanely good flavor and gravy. We got a big box of chicken stock from Sams and did not notice that it was not the low sodium type so I added no salt to the broth or gravy, just on the chicken itself.

For the rub went with what is pictured above. One cayenne pepper to spice it up.

Super juice. Had to add some water because it was so strong. The gravy was fantastic. Thickened with a roux, not the chicken grease.
